Dr. Stephen Van Tasell Dr. Stephen Van Tasell grew up in northeast Iowa and received his undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Iowa. Dr. Van Tasell served as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force for two years before coming to Fairfield in 1973 to set up his private practice. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Southeast Iowa District Dental Society, the Pierre Fauchard Academy,a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, a Fellow and Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, and a member of the President's Club of the University of Iowa. Locally, Dr. Van Tasell is a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church and sings in his church choir. He is a past president and secretary of Fairfield Lions Club. Dr. Van Tasell lives in Fairfield with his wife Danella and grandson Trae. He enjoys fishing, boating, woodworking, and working on his house and lawn. The Van Tasell's have six grandchildren that they enjoy spending time with.
